We built the Heron Hydration Vest around one question — what do you actually reach for when you stop walking? A running vest that carries two liters without bouncing.
It is made from stretch mesh with soft-flask pockets, selected after abrasion tests against granite, bark and the rough concrete of a train platform. The base panel is doubled so the bottom never becomes the first thing to wear out.
Shoulder straps are contoured and padded with closed-cell foam that will not pack flat over the years. A removable sternum strap slides on a rail, so it sits right whether you are five foot two or six foot four.
Inside, a sleeve holds a laptop or hydration bladder, and two mesh pockets keep small things from sinking to the bottom. An external daisy chain takes a wet jacket, a sleeping pad or a bunch of wildflowers.
Every buckle is a standard size, so if one breaks on a trip you can swap it from any outdoor shop, and we will mail you a replacement for free.

Spot clean with a soft brush and cool water. Do not machine wash. Re-wax canvas once a year using our bar wax and a hair dryer on low. Store empty and unbuckled in a dry place.

Exactly what I hoped for
Fits more than it looks like it should. I wish the side pockets were a bit deeper for tall bottles. The sternum strap slider is clever. Small detail, big difference for my shorter torso.

How long does shipping take?
Orders placed before 1 p.m. Pacific ship the same business day. Standard ground delivery takes 3 to 6 business days within the continental United States; expedited options appear at checkout.
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes. Orders of $75.00 or more after discounts ship free within the United States. Orders under that amount ship for a flat $7.95.
What is your return policy?
Unworn and unused items can be returned within 60 days for a full refund. Used gear is covered by our repair program instead, and we will always tell you what a fix would cost before we start.
How does the repair program work?
Send us anything we made, at any age. We patch, re-stitch, re-wax and replace hardware at cost, and many small repairs are free. Turnaround is usually two to three weeks.
Can I change or cancel my order?
We can edit or cancel an order within two hours of purchase. After that it may already be packed; write to us and we will do our best.
Do you ship internationally?
We ship to Canada, the United Kingdom and most of the European Union. Prices can be shown in euros or pounds using the currency selector, and duties are calculated at checkout.
